Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA)

ERRA brings together more than 40 energy regulators from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and Africa. The organization results from the need for sharing best practices to support countries in their reform processes in the energy sector.

Peru has been a member since 2018, being the only Latin American country that participates in this community thanks to the internationalization process the regulator has undertaken. Our participation in ERRA allows us to be aware of countries in hardly explored contexts to find innovative solutions through the working groups on electricity, gas, renewable energy, and consumers.

As part of ERRA's work, in April 2021, Osinergmin met with the Egyptian gas regulator (GasReg) to share best practices in the natural gas tariff methodology. Thanks to the interest aroused by the Peruvian experience, the topic was also presented in ERRA’s natural gas working group in June 2021.

Hybrid meetings were held on November 25 and 26, 2021, with the participation of ERRA’s working groups and ERRA’s chairs, in which case studies on smart metering and price disruptions in wholesale markets were addressed.

The November 2020 edition includes an interview with Osinergmin on the reform proposals for the LPG market.

ERRA is chaired by Maia Melikidze, Commissioner of the Energy and Water Regulator of Georgia.
